Jessie Wendels performing her floor routine at the East Midlands Gymnastics Championships - UK Club Grade 7 at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre, Nottingham on Sunday 1 March 2009. Jessie is 10 years old and a member of Notts Gym Club.
@gymnastx0931 Grades was changed 2 years ago. These girls now get the opportunity to compete at the British championships if they get a very high score in a comp known as the challenge cup. They can enter for this age 12. This is great for the late starters/ late peakers who still wish to go to olympics or worlds one day. They can continue to work hard and earn the right to compete with the elite girls at national level.
@gymnastx0931 In UK more girls do grades than levels because its easier. Levels is the elite route and so for the top gymnasts in their age group. If they pass level 2 in age the next step is espoir British championships age 12 and only then can they be truly classed as an elite gymnast.

Yh i was there at that comp waiting to compeet , Jessie was in a couple of groups below me because she was younger and because i was older i could do alot more , if you get what i meen lol

@gymnastx0931 both UK grades and levels work the same way. Grades start at 14 and go down to 5. Levels start at 5 and go down to 2.
