Jeff come on really what do you think Gore would've done? He would've attacked Afghanistan, as nearly everyone called for at the time, and since he had no family connection to Iraq, he might've actually finished the job and continued searching for bin Laden when we were only minutes away from him, instead of pulling resources to send soldiers into Iraq.

I keep trying to post an article but it won't let me....a NYT poll in Sept 01 showed 92% of Americans wanted to attack Afghanistan. I'm sure Gore would've been one of them. He was not at all far left. He even gave a speech in 2002 saying we should finish the job in Afghanistan and even expressed support for the Iraq War although he though Bush was going about it wrong. Google it. It's all there for you to see if you care, but be warned, his speech is typical long winded Gore.

i doubt he would have attacked afghanistan. he likely would have waited until we ACTUALLY HAD EVIDENCE to prove bin laden was behind it. people say that he claimed responsibility for it, but he never did. terrorist groups always claim responsibility for their attacks. there was no evidence when we attacked afghanistan. and besides, the media was reporting that it was al queda less than an hour after the second plane hit
