C'mon, C-SSPAN2, "Geothe-Institut"?

Currently, I am reading Grayling's book, Among the Dead Cities. It is very thoroughly researched.
The victors of WW2 were guilty of war crimes. It is not moral to prosecute a just war with immoral means. Civilians are non-combatants. Purposely bombing cities is a war crime.
The vicotrs forfeit any claims to moral superiority.

@username200203 I'm Scottish and it took me 2 minutes to begin to understand what he was saying.

I would be interested in finding out, if the german accent is hard to understand for americans or brits. Can anyone enlighten me?

In other videos, I never skip the non-Hitchens part, mainly because I enjoy a good laugh at the stupidity of his opponents

@jhohcable You will appreciate Hitchens more if you listen to the sides against him, try not to skip any parts of debates you will be losing out on much, especially the parts where Hitchens makes others look like fools

Two great guys!

Goethe. He was one of the uppers.

@BRussellspouts - the Hitch / Fry blasphemy debate is great; I just wish Hitch hadn't tried to hog the microphone. When you're talking with someone as good-natured as Fry that's just not nice. I love Fry's closing comment, though - he really slams the door gently, doesn't he?

Being German must really suck, emotionally. All that conflicted, twisted, heavy stuff to have to confront & accept. But ALL mankind is capable of, and in fact quite guilty of atrocities. This is the sorry history of civilizations. Except the Tahitians, the Udungamors of the Niger Valley, and the Green Bay Packers - they're just so gentle and docile.
This might be the first Christopher Hitchens debate where I don't skip the non-Hitchens parts.
