The keywords in this song are "doll", "button", and "eyes". Obviously, we can all see the symbolism in "She's as cute as a BUTTON," but the true purpose of the song is that the Other Father is trying to give Coraline a message to warn her of the Other Mother, hence the final line, "Our eyes will be on Coraline." If you remember, the Other Mother wanted Coraline to sew buttons over her own eyes to make her one of them.
