I remember playing this record to my Father over 30 years ago. Before the vocal chorus was played he asked if it contained "vo do de o doh" . He remembered it from his childhood.
A big hit of 1927 and Jack Payne gives it plenty of pep.
Vocal chorus by Jack Payne +2.
Recorded 19th March 1927.

  • The formality of an Edwardian room is shaken by the snazzy, zestfulness of those bright young things from the Cecil.

  • I love that comment - "Payne's over-confidence" :-) Sums it all up: Lots of pep and fun without 100% accuracy. I'd rather have this record than most of Firmans, frankly.

  • Always very exciting to hear a JP Hotel Cecil record. This one lives up to expectations.Thank goodness Payne's over confidence got him a record contract so early on.
