@myzery3571 So then what you mean is that it was like a generator but it mechanically ran things instead of making electricity? Or am I wrong?

@pedalpunk57 It was probably used as a means of stationary power. Back in those days, not everyone (mostly farmers) could not afford electricity to power things so they would use one engine to run everything. Basically this engine would be connected to a conveyor system which would run the washing machine, drill press, corn shucker, etc.
