Lessig does a great job explaining the influence of money in politics and why we need to protect the Secretary of State Office from this.

  • sorry, but the good professor didn't explain anything in the video. He just lobbied us to vote in a particular way.

  • There's been a corporate takeover of America. We need major political reform. Our representatives spend most of their time raising money and are now slaves to their corporate masters. The two party system is broken and it won't be easy to fix but we need to focus on the real issues and start organizing a movement.

  • As much as I would like to see politics not be the stooge of big business and well funded interests, I fear what will fill this power vacuum if it were to be successfully denied. In The Wealth of Nations Adam Smith revealed that financial power controls the destiny of society. In the absence of this what interests prevail? Interests opposed to financial stability or sound financial principles? Perhaps petty regional bias, religious zealots and prejudice will prevail. Better the devil you know?

  • This needs to be nationalized and expanded to ban all private funding as soon as Citizens United is struck out through whatever lawful means necessary.
