This video has the Lord's prayer from Mat 6:9-13, repeated 3 times, with pauses between phrases so that the student can repeat what he hears. To download audio readings of any chapter of the Greek New Testament go to greeklatinaudio.com.

Please leave comments to let me know if you find these videos helpful, and how I could make them more helpful to you. Let me know what other verses you would like to learn in the Greek, and I will try to find time to make more videos. If no one seems to be finding these videos helpful, I won't bother to upload any more.

A language is best learned by participating in the culture of the native speakers. We can't do that with Bible Greek, since the culture and language of the 1st century Greco-Roman world is long dead. Perhaps the best approximation we can make of that ideal learning situation is to listen to a lot of Bible Greek while imagining the situations in which it was spoken (though movies of people acting and speaking Bible Greek would be even better!). And reading along will help the student learn to read and write Greek as well.

No one knows how ancient Greek was pronounced. So pronouncing it as modern Greek makes sense, and sounds much more authentic and pleasing than the Erasmian pronunciation commonly taught in seminaries.

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS READING. COULD YOU PLEASE DO THE 23RD PSALM WHEN POSSIBLE? THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

  • @Mmarangakis You're welcome. I'm sorry, but I don't have time to do any more of these videos for now, and if I do make more, they will be in the New Testament Greek. The 23rd Psalm is in Hebrew (the LXX translation is in Greek, but I don't know where I might find the audio on that). Anyway, thanks for the comment.
