http://www.thefrugalfilmmaker.com An easy and inexpensive way to steady handheld shooting is the two-handed stabilizer rig. Here's how to make one.

  • This is all good and well, but it won't fit my XL2

  • @RDWGstudios Make it bigger! PVC is cheap and easily modified.

  • Excellent video, what did you use for the shockmount?

  • @joerosenbaum The shockmount is one from a previous episode. Click on it when it first appears to go to the video.

  • i don't know if you already made a tutorial, but can you make a tutorial on how to make a decent glidecam?

  • @DavyCronin I tried a Glidecam clone, but failed. I did succeed, however, in make a Steadicam Merlin clone. Check out my video "The Frugal Floater" for more info.

  • For everyones information, It's possible to fit 12 (2AA) battery into the tubing. Wrap each of them in a layer of electrical tape so no contact can be done between each batteries, it fits nice and tight into the 1/2 pvc pipes and it adds a good weight to the rig !! Helps a lot when using a GoPro for example

  • Can you make a written list of parts please. I got confused on how big they should be. I know how long but how big. Thank you

  • Could this be bulit with 3/4" PVC? because i have 6 feet left from a diy fig rig that i don't really like

  • @ChaosMarine7106 the measurements used here are also okay for any dslr? :)

  • this is sick. what if i was using a dslr though would it be different cause i cant really focus it?

  • Easy to build, and fast. I painted all the PVC flat black before assembly, so it looks much better. The rig works very well, but as with all camera platforms, practice makes perfect. I'm going to try his Frugal Floater next. Keep up the great work, Scott.

  • i wanna pimp out my rig D:

  • I JUST MADE MINE! THANKS MAN, FOR THE GREAT VIDEO!
