A visit to the mysterious Isle Haute, Nova Scotia, a remote island in the Bay of Fundy, 1999. A walk on "The Bar" in the fog, the Snow-Low treasure pits. A headless ghost is said to guard this pirate treasure.

  • How can we get to Isle Haute ?does any one in Nova Scotia make regular trips? We are just across the bay in St. Martins New Brunswick

  • There is only one charter boat in the upper Bay of Fundy as far as I know and he won't take passengers to Isle Haute for safety concerns. You would have to make private arrangements with a scallop fisherman who is off season I think. There has been issues in the past with unlicensced tours in the Fundy so many fishermen are reluctant to take any paying guests.

Thanks for watching th evideo, hope you get there and make your own video for me to watch.

    Cheers!

  • I want this video on my V1050 unit.

  • My great uncle John Fullerton was the lighthouse keeper at Isle Haute in the 1940's. He was married to my grandfather's sister - Elva Spicer. They raised their son Donald there as well. Isle Haute has a magical quality and I hope to visit it. Thank you for posting your video. It's great to see for those of us with ties to the island - and for those who wish they did! Thanks very much! Colleen Alexander

  • i miss this island so much! i used to go there all the time untill i was about 9. i would love to go there again, when i used to go i didnt know anything about it , i thought it was just a island in the bay of fundy. but now i know so much more about it and i really want to go see these spots on the island that ive read about, but havent seen for so long. i also love watching the seals. (:

  • I'm going there this summer with my dad and two brothers. I think were going for a week, I can't wait. I want to check out the volcanic vent too, I hear it's still active!

  • you are supose to ask the cost gard if you can go on and tell them the day for how long and what you are going to do there and there is a good reason why fishermen wount take people places like that any more because if some gets hurt it takes so long for them to get help and there are many hidden dangers in places like that

  • wonderful video! can you kiyak there from margretsville or motor boat? thanks

  • My great great Grandmothers cousin was one of the Lighthouse Keepers there some 85 years ago.

  • Thanks for posting this! In 1995 I camped on this island with a group of friends. It is truly a place of great beauty and wonder!

  • I remember seeing this island from Advocate Harbour at the RED ROCKS location. At first I thought it was a large ship out there. (Must have been because of the fog). With my telescope I realized it was an island about 12 miles from shore. I would like to see it up close some time if my wife and I get back to Nova Scotia. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
