At sunset the turtles at north shore Maui come up out of the water. It's so fun to take just an hour or two and hang out..watch the sun set and the turtles come in. Another reason I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place! It's so amazing to get such a close look at these majestic creatures. They are protected by Hawaii state law..so no touching..but they do come up close as we sit there on the beach..so we got some really good pictures...and then left them alone so they could continue doing whatever it is they were doing. Seemed like napping..no eggs are being layed..they must do that somewhere far away from people.
