This video will teach you about how to find the best personal trainer for your needs.
The first most common way to find a trainer is via the Internet, second is through a word of mouth and the third one is through the gym where you have a membership.
There are many websites today that list personal trainers, but today we will focus on Zegee.com. The reason why I like it is because It has been around for a long time and it shows personal trainers' detailed profile. As an example, let me show you a profile of one of the trainers on Zegee.com.
Zegee.com has a listing of 1000 of personal trainers.
Each personal trainer profile shows a face photograph along with a personal trainer summary showing:
cost per session,
years of experience,
gym affiliation,
certifications,
specialization,
liability insurance,
age and body type. You can also read about trainer's style and see the trainer's website.
Zegee.com is free you don't need to sign up to contact the personal trainers.
The word of mouth is the second most common way to find a personal trainer.
You can ask your friends or co-workers and see if they have worked with a trainer that they can recommend.
It is important to remember a few things when taking your friends' recommendations. First, It's possible that your friends' trainer can have personality traits that are compatible with your friend but not necessarily with you. Secondly, Working with your friends' trainer can lead to loss of privacy especially if your trainer also trains your co-worker or a close friend at the same gym. If you are concerned with privacy, find your trainer on the internet. Even though all trainers keep all information confidential, some information that doesn't pertain to training can still be exchanged. Lastly, a lot of clients like to work out with trainers they are physically attracted to and so can your friends. If you want a trainer to lose weight and get results, find a trainer on your own based on your own criteria.
Now, This is the least recommended method. You should use your gyms trainers only if you were unable to find a trainer through Zegee.com , friends or coworkers.
The 3 reasons why finding a trainer through your gym is not my favorite option are - first - because you are limited to the trainer selection that the gym offers, so are less likely to get what you really need or want.
secondly, most gyms' management dictates rules which require the trainer to be more aggressive and inpersonal. Gym personal trainers have utilization reviews. If a trainer doesnt perform 20 or 30 sessions per week he or she will get fired.
Third, most health clubs want to hire the most inexpensive trainers so that they charge you 80 per session and they give the trainer $20 and keep the rest. Because of this, most bigger gyms employ trainers who lack education and preparation. LA fitness for example pays their trainers $8 per hour. Now - what quality of a triner will you get for $8 per hour. Ballys and most other big network gyms are similar. The bigger the gym, the less likely you will get a good quality trainer. This will be different in the very expensive health clubs which only employ trainers who have masters degrees in kinesiology, physiology and physical education. So if you have a membership in a prestigious gym, than you should be okay with their trainers.
So, to sum up - 1st and best way is to find a trainer via zegee.com or the internet. 2nd best way is through the word of mouth 3rd and the least effective way is through the gym where you work out. Thanks for your time and remember to always stay in control of your own health.
