"NHL 10 will introduce over 200 game refinements and will bring the real emotions from fans and a real hockey atmosphere into the game.

First person fighting will be introduced in the game to make the player feel like they are in an NHL fight. An all-new board physics engine will let the players battle for pucks on the boards letting the player shield, kick the puck, pin opponents to the glass, all while the fans bang on the glass just like in real life. Player fatigue will have players bobble passes and avoid collisions under threat of constant physical pressure. Momentum will enter the game like never before. Players will be able to start scrums after the whistle to draw penalties and to bring the fans even more into the game for that extra push of momentum needed to win. New scoring techniques will be entering the game such as scoring from your knees and hitting the puck from mid air. Players will also be able to pass the puck off the boards with the new passing system that will reduce the number of tape to tape passes and make passing more realistic.

New fan textures will make the fans look more realistic. Playoff towels will also be in the game."

Producer David Littman also confirmed in his Producer Blog that the PS3 version will now include customizable music.

According to the developer conference videos and the EA Toughness trailer for NHL 10, there will be several new goalie animations along with goalie AI improvements, harder to do "cheese goals" and overall goalie skill level. EA Sports currently has one specific developer that is only working on goalies to make sure the job gets done right.

Several bug fixes that EA Sports has been a bit quiet about, are also being made.

A new feature according to GAMEINFORMER is that you can now one-time loose pucks! That means that when you see a loose puck, you can simply skate up to it and shoot it instantly without any stick handeling or puck control.

Twists to Be-A-Pro will be made, a more in-depth franchise mode, and online modes will be completley revamped giving the gamers a more true-to-life experience, turning it from a standard NHL hockey game, to a sports MMORPG game. Be-A-Pro mode is when you get to play as a single player on any NHL team and position indicators are made for you when skating on the ice, coach tips (things to improve on), and you get to sit on the benches and watch the game for when your shift is up. In Be-a-Pro mode you can also create your very own player, start from the AHL, and work your way up to being the next NHL superstar. NHL 09 had this feature and NHL 10 built upon that.

The new fighting system being introduced in NHL 10 will change the fighting from third person to first person. The decision was made in an attempt to make the fighting system more realistic. There will also be a tough guy player type.[5]

According to GAMEINFORMER magazine, the fights aren't quite as in depth as Fight Night but it is highly detailed. For example, if a real player in the NHL usually grabs other players like Alex Burrows then that player in NHL 10 will use more grabs rather than distant punches. You can also use your hockey glove and rub it in a players face called a "face wash." Also if a star player wants to fight, sometimes a "tough guy" will come in and take his place in order to avoid any potential injuries to the star

  • having the opportunity to go inside the dressing room and respond to plays that happened and incidents on the ice. and post game things. and pregame things... that in my opinion would be cool

  • You guys bring up the number of refs are absolutely retarded. Out of all the things to bring up.. I'm sure the number of refs really has an effect on your game play experience. Lets see some broken sticks and lost sticks game play and better puck physics.

  • thank you...

  • how about more then 1 ref.

  • how bout actual coaches like the fucking had in nhl 05-07

Top Comments

  • How about in NHL 11 they get the

-actual goal horns for each team

-actual goalie masks for each goalie

-actual team intro for each team

-maybe Joe Benenati or Doc Emerick making the play call.

  • This game, is gonna be INSANE!

  • Great video!

  • I got NHL 11, 10,and 09

  • On NHL 10 my player was skating and missed a hit and ran into the boards by mistake. He looked like he was out cold but got up and limped back to the bench.

Has this ever happended to anyone else? It was hillarious.

  • i need this game!!! its a lot like a real game!!! i need this and NHL 2K11

  • RAPE AT 0:37!

  • id like to see you take full control of a hockey player, off and on the ice sign autographs etc that would be the most life like hockey game you can ever get really

  • Wait... did he say? "we have a brand new crowd system... with women in the crowds and glassbangers..." :D what is so special about women that you point them and glassbanger out in one sentence? xD

  • NHL11; can we have more than 1 ref/ linesman, when fights have benches NOT clear, music while fight,(maybe) better puck physics, inside locker room scenes maybe between pd's? Actual goal horns, goalie masks, and Rick jeanerett as commentator... so the cgame calls are fun, and it sounds and looks like the real thing...

  • omg i want nhl 10 right now and i want it on pc but there isnt:(

  • its funny how in NHL 2k7 for the first Xbox they have almost all of that:

    -boardplay

-after the whistle fighting (kinda u can only hit a guy once)

-crowd stuff (women in the crowds LOL crowds that cheer or not)

-players grabbing the puck from the air

-crazy saves by the goalies (tho not that realisticly)

remember the NHL 2k7 is from -06

and EA comes up with them in 2010

    But this game is.... wow.
