I chatted with a man at the bus stop and told him I also read the Bible ans he talked about his daily Bible study. I told him I had a Jewish family and he jumped up took my hands and asked me to pray with him in Jesus name, that my family turn away from their Rabbi and come get born again. I thought what about honoring my father and mother? He whipped up a scripture which allowed for the kind of in Jesus name prayer he had in mind. I did not think we were both believing in the same Jesus, thanks

@ritchloui Why so rude, notice i have not been rude to anyone, treat ppl with respect and stop name calling because someone has an opinion you may not agree with. Lastly the bible actually goes in great detail off things to come, people will be lovers of self, lovers of sin, killers, disrespectful, etc and what do you see on news. not a day goes by without seeing many selfish acts. You do not have to believe it is a choice no one is forcing you so don't believe.

@jjzanice I suggest you keep taking your medication. Even Jesus thought that the world would end during his own lifetime. The Bible is heaving with prophesies of saviours, the end of the world and the dreadful things that will happen to those who don't 'believe'. This is to be expected from deluded priests and charlatans, all vomited out for the consumption of moronic, frightened little people like yourself.

@MrToby9999 The bible has prophesies that were made before they even happened, book of Daniel 9:25-26 approx 500 b.c proclaimed that the Messiah would come & he did It goes on to say he (Jesus) would be cut off, he was, approx 700b.c prophet Micah named Bethlehem as the birth place of Jesus Micah 5:2. that just 2. You claim the bible in not accurate, fine its your choice, being a Christian is not just about science and what you can or can prove.

@jjzanice The car analogy is not quite right because the expectation (not faith) that the car will start is based on evidence. In my case the evidence is the fact that in the past the car has started every time without fail. The probablity that it will start next time is high based on that evidence. By contrast, the Bible has low reliability, is inaccurate and contradictory, and therefore by definition can't be God breathed - at least not by a perfect all knowing god.

@jjzanice The New Testament was originally compiled (not written) by the Catholic Church around the 4th century. The decision of which writings to include was made by the church. The protestent Bible was canonized later when Luther separated from the Catholic Church. We know who wrote some of the books but not all of them. Some were anonymous e.g. no one knows who wrote Matthew. The history of the Bible is very well documented. On the other hand, none of what you say is backed by evidence.

@MrToby9999 Bible is God breathed, the scriptures I gave not 1 of his word comes from man's thought interetation. It's called faith, just like when you get in your car you don't think will it start you have faith it will. The bible was not written by many churches, show me which churches those are. it comes down to Faith. The new testament was written by the apostles choosen by God not no Jim and jacket. The old testament was written again by ppl who divinely appointed by God.

@jjzanice Before quoting scripture you would need to prove the reliability of scripture i.e. the whole Bible. How do you know that 2 Timothy 3:16 is correct. In any case, 2 Timothy 3:16 can't be referring to the New Testament because New Testament didn't exist when that verse was written. The New Testament was compiled by the Church centuries later. The New Testament also contains many inaccuracies and is obviously written by man.

@MrToby9999 Biblical sound teaching has gone out of church, folks lack relationship with saviour and churches are full of folks trying to make a quick buck, I'm not blind to that and the Lord deals with people accordingly. The bible is for me true to it word as it says in 2 Timothy 3:16 further explained in 2 Peter 1:20-21 numbers say God can not lie. Revelation says no changing the bible. I read the contradictions they amount to misquoted, out of context either with the story or its purpose.
