November 1998
The process of reconciliation began with great hope in both black and white communities. But now it seems South Africa's conscience is tapping uncomfortably on the shoulder of white complacency.

On a Sunday afternoon, Cynthia Ngewu visits her son's simple grave. For her, like many other victims of apartheid the Truth Commission has delivered knowledge, but not comfort. Her son was one of the Guguletu Seven who tried to raid a police van in 1986. Even though the authorities discovered their plans, the men were not arrested, they were slaughtered. It was a massacre that has come to represent apartheid's worst excesses. Unfortunately Claudia doesn't feel she got anywhere near the truth at the TRC. For the people at the highest levels of politics stayed away. Craig Matthews was one of the few police officers who did tell of his part in the South Africa's bloody history. He doesn't expect to be forgiven, he knows people will hate him forever. But he at least did tell. He calls those who didn't show-up LMFs -- 'Lacking in Moral Fibre' and says their actions undermine the future. Cynthia knows how she feels about it: "In the white community they are not willing to accept that horrible past and humble themselves before the nation and bring about a healing."

  • Fuck you too, malebe enyonko wena fatcobra4

  • My cousin (a wacky Marketing type) worked in SA in the 1990s, & got himself into a ‘Truth & Reconciliation’ hearing after pretending his parents had been killed by the ANC.

He made a tearful 30min speech about “transcending pointless hate & negativity” & “understanding the full context of their death”, before jumping up & shouting “Fooled you all- sanctimonious idiots!” & running off. He was arrested shortly afterwards for ‘offending public decency’ & was expelled from the country.

  • Ironically the actions of the ANC and other in this country has justified Apartheid with their actions.

Its kind of hard for them to take the high ground and say how the whites were wrong in wanting to live seperate from blacks for their safety and security when now that we live together whites are brutally tortured, murdered, raped, robbed and enslaved everyday.

Apartheid was a self preservation method that clearly worked for black and white alike.

  • Craig Williamson should burn in hell.

  • In response to what that murder Craig Williamson said about having the moral high ground,he should realize that when the Vatican, one of the worlds beacons of morality, condemens your actions like they did Aparthied, you are doing wrong.

  • @SuperTruth77 and probably enjoyed his stay on the cost of South African government, is he walking properly?

  • @SuperTruth77 ur a fuckinf idiot

  • Lol at presumably white afrikaners trying to advocate the apartheid regime. Absolutely sickening. Don't worry though, just keep thinking and living like a racist fool and you'll surely end up in the dustbin of history just like the disgustingly arrogant culture that started South Africa.
