Well put. Mooji says the same - to paraphrase him - self help is like trying to put a sticking plaster on something that isn't there.

I don't get it. How do I not identify with my thoughts? What do I identify with and how do I do that?
-
bible is the worst self help book ever.
-
- I want to find my real self?
~ And where would you look for your self?
- Well, inside myself.
~ Inside yourself? Where's that? Inside your mind?
- I suppose so.
~ Why not inside your toe?
- ???
~ Who wants to know anyway.

The question that arises for me from this is: if we accept that there is no "me" because we cannot hold it or point to it, then by the same criteria how may we know there is actually something called "awareness"? That too is a form of identity that cannot actually be defined by any means other than its being aware of its existence - much like "me".

@Tigerpaws9097826 What isn't awareness?

Probably the best indictment of the self help literature ever! Yet it points to just how seductive the self help books are by sustaining the myth of the illusory "I".
