  • UFC and MMA stuff is realistic, but let's face it, UFC and Pride fighting is not the consummation of no rules combat. That title would go to soldiers on a battle field, gladiators, or a fight to the death type situation. Even in UFC and Pride fighting, there ARE rules. Otherwise, what would stop a rather brutal fighter from snapping somebody's neck, gouging somebody's eyes out, or throwing sand in an opponent's eye?

  • Oyama had a very diverse background, and it would be naive to think that he didn't train specifically for no rules combat. He didn't go to Mt. Minobu just to shoot the breeze. Oyama trained to develope enough power to quite literally break anything that he punched, kicked, or striked. And, I'm sure that his grappling had the same potential. i.e. (broken arms, broken necks, dislocated shoulders, you name it.)

  • Why must people always bring up the "such and such against blah blah blah" arguments. Oyama was one of the greatest warriors of all time. Was he the best? Who knows? But, what I do know is that he was respected by the best fighters in nearly any style that you can think of. Oyama was not biased about what styles he would fight against.

  • Pathetic? Far from it. Just look at the way he handled the attacks from that guy. The guy didn't score a single good blow on Oyama. Oyama ducked and blocked the attacks and knocked the guy down. Of course, he didn't let lose on the guy. Afterall, the dude was probably his student.

So, you wonder how he'd do against a Pride/UFC champ, huh? Ever heard of Andy Hug? (A K-1 Champion) He was a student of Oyama. Oyama could run rings around the dude even though he was twice his age.

  • Mas Oyama is no match for Son Goku!

  • este tio es puro acero....

  • probably the most hyped up guy ever.... look at the "Kumite" halfway in... the one attacking isnt attacking seriously and falls before oyama kicks his leg..

  • @fumaninjaknownoequal Sure you have but you never fought anyone who fought like mas. All the conditioning is relative to any art. The attitude in kyokushin is not the same as other arts. If mas hit you you were out. If he block you, you got a broken bone. Sorry to tell you but point sparring don't resemble survival nor does competition.

  • i read somewhere that the bottle breaking and the brick breaking were fake he used a trick he baked the brick so if you would loan on it it would break and he did something to the bottle so it would split easily(he could do it in real i think)

but that doesn't take away the fact that he was a legend and that he was strong(the bull fighting and other fights).

  • Tosco.

  • Sorry, what I meant was compliment. I'm such a lousy typist :p

  • Fuck You For insulting Asian Karate.

I will Challenge YOu A Duel!!
