What a great honor and exciting fun it was to perform my song The Bells of Ireland with my husband and our friends Silver Strings and Carson Symphony members. The musicians created their own arrangements and everybody said they really enjoyed playing my charming little waltz.

Later, we also had the great honor of doing a Celtic workshop for the program that Sue directs, Strings in the Schools, and the violin students sang and played Bells of Ireland as part of the workshop performance.

The song is all about musicians getting together and enjoying making music as friends. In the song, the flowers Bells of Ireland bloom in a vase on the table, as the wind howls outside, but we're warm at home playing Irish music together. However, although none of us have ever been to Ireland, through our friendship and the music, "Ireland is blooming right here."

It's a true story that started years ago when Sue Jesch, the violinist in this performance, used to visit Tom and I and to play Celtic music as part of Gairin Celtic Music.

If you like the song, there's a score you can play in our music book available on Amazon and you can also find out how to get the score if you contact me through our Web site aufrance.com/music/

Enjoy the music! Thanks for listening! -- Mary Kay
