Scottish Classical Guitarist Matthew McAllister performing 'Lament for the Death of his Second Wife' by Neil Gow in a recital in the Younger Hall of St Andrews University.
His phrasing is very moving. I think of the way Bream could transform what others just play. It is other worldly. He is a real artist. I like Russell. Is it not strange that the guitar seems so much more personal than other instruments? I think it may have something to do with the tactile nature of the strings. Both hands shape tone and volume in ways far more direct than other instrument. The only other instrument more sensitive to human influence is the guitar, perhaps. What do you think?
Wow ... Your guitar has a wonderful sound. Congratulations!!

@chopin65 Yes, I agree completely. I love this tune, and Matthew interprets it in such an expressive way. You can tell that he loves it too.

@chopin65 On the original score from David Russel 6th is tuned to C,,so very low and maybe 5th to G (i am not sure 100% on this...)
