Much better quality than an earlier Vorticilla upload of mine this one, I totally forgot about it. In this video I move from Darkfield illumination to lightfield with an iris adjusting to show some of thier internal structures. Even the V shaped cillia on each side of the main body is clearly visable.... :)

  • Oh crikey I can't remember at this time in the morning! lol It's a compound and I can go from 40x to 1000x with and without oil immersion :) I'll have a look at the specifications a little later and post them for you. I have the compound and a stereoscope lucky me :)

  • what microscope do you use?

  • @SuperPleroma Sorry, been super busy. The scope is the SP45 from Brunel who were super helpful... :)

  • Thanks :) I don't know what the plant was called but it was a branch type weed from my pond. X 400 I LOVE setting the music! So much so I've bought some music making software and I'm in the process of making my own music :)

  • Hi Feebo. Nice video. I like the music, the "chinkling" matches well with the bell shaped Vorticella.

What's the plant they are attatched to? and which objective was used here? what magnification? and where did you find them?
