Treats that my hedghogs have enjoyed:

Cooked, unseasoned
Scrambled or hard boiled eggs
Fruits and vegetables
Crickets
Meal worms
Store-bought treats
Wet cat food (I forgot to mention this, but it's also a good treat)

Treats help give them variety and a well balanced diet. I like to feed mine a treat once or twice a week.

Yes, Roo is quite grumpy- she just woke up! :)

  • * I NEED HELP!

lol okay, um i just got my hedgie. 3 days ago,i have a c&c cage and its big. She stays in my room, my house has central air. I understand hedgehogs need to be kept at a certain temperature of 72 degrees or higher. I have only one heat lamp, and it only heats one side of her cage. if you feel the other side of the cage, its quite cool. My room is kinda small, so the lamp itself has heated up my room but im just wondering, should i get a heating pad for the otherside? or is it ok?

  • @helloworld99100 It should be fine if one side of her cage is heated. That way, if she's cool, she will move to that side of the cage, and if she's too warm, she can move over there. I only have a heating page on half of my hedgie's cage, that way they won't get over heated. I hope this helps!

  • U inspired me to get a hedgehog, so i did ^.^ thank you sooo much i love my baby, her name is "Declan Albus Bellatrix Alastor Nagini Galbraith" :3 (:

  • @teamalice642 Yes I did. :)

  • Don't feed them grapes or avacados because they are toxic to hedgie's!

  • @AllQuills thank you! it did :) also, i've been playing with her alot and i've been always holding her. im kinda worried that im always bothering her and this breaks the possibility of her getting used to me. but im worried that if i leave her alone she'll become anti-social because shes already biting me.-____- if you can give me any tips on that i'd appreciate it! thank you so much!

  • MY HEDGIE <3 HARD BOILED EGGS!

but he makes a mess and anoints all over himself! Its kinda creepy.

  • my hedgie would not eat a starwberry i was confussed/:

  • @selgomezfan323 I give my hedgie cat food daily and monitor how much food he gets. :) It's just good to watch how much fat they get if they're not particularly active hedgies. For instance, my hedgie, Winston, usually runs over a mile and a half every night and is known to sometimes run 3 or 4 miles over the night (we have a bike pedometer on his wheel, so we measure how far he runs) so I feel okay giving him fatty-er treats sometimes, like crickets or mealworms.

  • Hi thanks for the video. And I was wondering since you only give treats a couple times a week do you just give regular hedgehog/cat food daily? Because I give my hedgehog fruits and such more like every other day. But she isn't obese. She curls up into a perfect ball and is very active and social. Oh I also give her dry hedgehog food every day. Thank you so much :)
