Whatever you knew about the Former Yugoslavia or the '90s war era in the Balkans...you can forget about everything you knew.

After 48 hours in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, I've made an almost 180-degree turnaround in terms of what I know about this noble folk and their amiable, kickass ways.

Zoinks...it's so easy to make friends in the Balkans, baby, and Serbs really play for keeps, like most Balkan peoples.

Come to think of it, I've really come to appreciate it, too. So much nicer than easy come, easy go and Prague-style backstabbing. And the other thing: Serbs have large shiny courageous testicles.

Czechs can be total hapless cowards.

In both cases, the two peoples don't even know they have these characteristics hard-coded inside them. Magic.

Here were my reflections after 48-hours in the Former Yugo.
