The blood trail - Rochester Hills, MI

This video shows the aftermath of the deer kill at the Avon Nature Area in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The shooting took place Wed, January 21st, 2009, just a few feet away from two major streets (Avon & Livernois) full of traffic. It started at rush hour, 6 p.m. and ended at 11 p.m. No streets were secured, no neighbors were warned to stay at home. This deer was shot while eating from a bait pile. Severely wounded, she thrashed into trees and brushes for a while. At the death site, a frozen pool of blood and a big hole were found, indicating that she might have been later on shot a second time on the spot. After that, she was dragged out. These actions were carried out by the Oakland County Sheriff snipers team as a result of a resolution voted on by City Council members and encouraged by Mayor Barnett. Residents believe this unnecessary and cruel slaughter also puts neighbors and passersby at risk from getting shot or hit by a wounded/scared deer running into traffic (it already happened). Better alternatives are available. STOP THE SHOOTING IN ROCHESTER HILLS!!!

The killing took place right beside city hall while a scheduled meeting was taking place. There were helicoptors and men with highpowered guns taking shots. Many people had their civil rights violated and were told to leave. They were simply holding up signs and at city hall. As many have said ,"They are in control and they know it."

This is gross. It is hard to fathom that a city's government is so stupid that some city council members would not consider having harmless reflectors over a blood trail at the environmental center next door to city hall.

Real men are so hard to find these days. No wonder more women love animals than they do impotent little twerps who are armed with high-powered weaponry that are discharged yards away from an unsuspecting doe or buck. We need to look to the vegans to improve the genetic stock of our sorry, cowardly species.

What a horrific death this deer must have encountered and more proof that using sharp shooters over bait is barbaric . What does this accomplish? Deer are going to populate back to pre-cull numbers in no time and this will be a neverending vicious cycle of pain, suffering and bloodshed! and of course danger to human lives.!
