Nel vortice della luce, un canto di carne e fuoco investe l'anima, e lo spirito si nutre del tuo respiro, Chiara : vortice di luce nella carne del mondo !

Intense.

What a revelation! The attribution of the work to Bach is uncertain, as we know. But as @Eddissimo & @dolofonos say: Bach may have composed & played it on such a pedaled-harpsichord. Chiara Massini grants us the privilege of hearing the original sound – the world is waiting for the official release of this wonderful performance. All good wishes, Chiara!

After the umpteenth hearing of this during the past year I am still convinced that harpsichord as sounded by Chiara Massini is the preferred platform for BWV565 not the organ. @Eddissimo.

This sounds very good! A great performance!

Hi Chiara : first of all you are a great harpsichordist, passionate and vigorous. I have a question about this particular piece, are you playing on a pedal harpsichord, or is it a transcription ? If so, where could I find the score ? Thanks to you.
The harpsicord is one of those instruments that it's hard to go wrong with. God I love that sound.

As you mention it, composition and practice was not practical on the organ during Bach's era and so other pedaled-keyboards were used in alternative. Bach did own a pedaled-harpsichord and it is not unlikely that he played this toccata and fugue on such an instrument and may well have composed it on one as well.
