Many people have different technique, and that comes down to personal taste in sound. What is not up for debate, however, is the fact that Kraus was able to sing well, in his own unique voice, with access to his whole register including high notes, for several decades. That is only possible with healthy, consistent and SUSTAINABLE technique. Regardless of personal taste, Kraus built his instrument for the long run, and I find that in itself beautiful.

@MrMartinKraus por su puesto asi es. Es un Re sobreagudo muy bien dado y el que diga falsete debe estudiar antes de opinar!! Kraus mismo dijo que el usaba la voz de cabeza, pero no el falsete. Para mi el mejor. Bravisimo

por ahi hay un comentario de que el do es falsete, dejame decirte que el unico falsete eres tu. Y no es un do ese agudo es un re, deberias de saber pobre hombre, y kraus es el mejor en todo desde su persona hasta en lo profesional.

Checking with my crotch, this recording is one semitone above, his highest note reached a D flat. Would be a technical problem of the recorder equipment?

La mejor version de Che Gelida Manina, he escuchado a Pavarotti y Placido Domingo y otros y se me hace menos grotesca , mas fina, bella diccion, tonos agudos intensos y el fiato sostenido, muy alto....

@hansquad I cold not dare to say this voice is ugly, Its all down to taste, I would rather say that this voice was all art and hard work apart from all other tenors in history. Luciano was an excellent tenor but not as good as Kraus when it comes to repertory, tecnique, phisic. Not to mention Kraus did not intend to make a career on fame, money, marketing, Luciano did have an excellent publicity and that is what made him known. I do like Luciano dont get me wrong.
