"modern day homosexuals" come out when their check book get high enough, lol. Paul was great, and for his time, he certainly was out enough. He was ahead of his time,,,and certainly helped the gay community along, also with laughter. Still a great posting. Thanks

The thing was Lynde didn't brag and boast and parade his homosexuality because he didn't need to. Everyone enjoyed him because he was funny as fuck. He didn't have to put his sexuality out there like modern day homosexuals do.

paul lynde really hammed it up. how can he percieve himself to be portraying a straight character? obviously he knew what he was doing. it wasn't even a secret that he was gay.

Yikes. I'm sorry but you are really reaching here. There were gay characters and they were obvious. Paul Lynde yes. Anges Moorehead yes, but please don't insult her by calling her a "drag queen." She had style and flair left over from the 40s. Dick Sarget - gay in real life. I think it is important to share the relevance of older gay icons (being around your age myself). Just don't "read into" things that aren't there. And yes, Paul Lynde was wonderful. Best wishes.

Paul Lynde was hilarious! I have the Dean Martin celebrety roasts and he's great on those.

Sometimes it is most fun to have an expose of the people who you didn't know were gay - And never suspected it, but this is fun.

Can i PLUG you in the butt?

If Paul Lynde was alive today (and working), I'm sure he would have gotten a kick out of voicing Roger from American Dad. Seth does a great job of it, but I bet he'd love to have Lynde fill that roll.

I never thought of Endora as a drag queen or Aunt Clara as a lesbian. She was too confused to know what a lesbian was.
