  • Thank you so much for posting this!! I love the song--Kris makes you feel like that Sunday morning he's talking about. It sounds even more honest and human now than when he first wrote it.

    Beautiful...thank you!!!

  • Went to see Kris at the Johnny Cash Festival at the Ventura Fairgrounds not too long ago. Think I was one of the few oldies but goodies there. You felt like Kris was singing just to you. He is so gracious and personable.

  • AMAZING BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

  • totally great version--thanks...love Kris singing it...he owns it...soo classic

  • @weewill32 - I have loved this song for decades and never felt encouraged to get stoned - but I can nevertheless understand the feelings he describes and empathise with those in that situation. As for why he's still performing - because there are thousand upon thousands of us who love his voice and his music. I saw him on this tour at the Royal Albert Hall and it was a magical experience.

  • I have loved this song all of my life...well since 8 years old or so when I first heard it.... on the kitchen radio sung by Johnny Cash. I have always related to it and have walked some sleepy city Sunday sidewalks in my time.... and lonliness and beer and dirty shirts I have also known..

  • Flat out - The best songwriter ever.

  • following relious beliefs is like going to a theatre and sititting in the back row so u can be the 1st one out,
