@XXXbeastmodeXXX21 LATEST VERSION of Acronis (free) does NOT allow cloning of entire drives.

@SupaDupaTime you have to extend your partition under computer management disk management(vista or w7) if youre on xp youll have to download another program or use gparted on a live boot cd

I have a 200GB hard drive which I used to transfer over to my 1TB and the 1TB hard drive has lost 800GB of its memory, so basically there is only 200GB of memory which can be stored on it (max). Where has the rest of the other 800GB of storage gone?

Thanks for the link, saves time looking for a decent free HDD imager, though I wish I watched more of the video since I wasted a while Formating the new HDD when Acronis has to do it too.
But the laptop I'm salvaging has two HDD and now with an enclosure I get a sweet pocket sized external HDD.

I think software that you have to pay for after a trial period is called "Shareware"

im so jealous everyone's hard drive is twice bigger than both my disk C and D drives :(........
can you do this if you have a lower capacity ssd ? assuming your hard drive isnt filled past the capacity of the ssd

@BroknSircut Yes you can. I never worked with an SSD drive but I know its still using a SATA connection. As long if your data from your old drive is able to fit into the new one, it will be fine.

If i clone it will it delete everything on the new hard drive?
XXXbeastmodeXXX21 6 months ago
@XXXbeastmodeXXX21 If your new hard drive is not empty (formatted) and it depends on if you choose to load the cloned material onto that used partition.

@joesdevil68 When you downloaded the trial did it ask for an email? If so, use another email account to download it. It should work.
