2011 Heritage Classic Alumni Game - Calgary Flames Alumni vs. Montreal Canadiens Alumni

What a great day it was.!

It was -15c, with a slight breeze to make your cheeks rosy. But it was a glorious sunny day, under an azure-blue sky, watching hockey legends face-off against each other on McMahon Stadium's Heritage Classic Rink.

It was an awesome thrill to see some of my favourite Flames legends like Lanny MacDonald, Jim Peplinski, Theo Fleury, and Joel Otto (who incidentally is doing an awesome job asst.-coaching the Hitmen!)!

Watching an outdoor game on a crisp Canadian Winter day made me feel just a little bit younger, and a little more Canadian (or Canadien if you're a Habs fan like my friend Hervé is).

And I get to do it all again on Monday when I get to see my favourite team the Calgary Hitmen faceoff against the Regina Pats on Family Day. And I hear it's gonna be a LOT warmer.

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames alumni are proud to announce today that Craig Conroy will play in the Outdoor Alumni Game on Saturday, February 19, 2011 when Calgary Flames alumni will take on the Montreal Canadiens alumni at McMahon Stadium.

Why was Martin Gelinas on the Habs roster when he never played there?

@rudyando I copied/pasted the rosters from the Flames announcement of the rosters. But you're right, Gelly never played for the Habs. Maybe they put him on their roster just to even out the numbers.

Nice! I love seeing all those familiar names again! Fleury was huge news last year during his come back attempt. I'd though I'd never see him on ice again but glad to hear his name in this game. I wonder if there were any news about him playing this game!
