The tutorial is great! Thank You!
Following the steps I successfully upgraded to 2 GB, hopefully adding some longevity to my wee little mini. If the performance is no better, well I'm only out $30.
I had a problem with the first power up. No Dell splash screen only continual beeps. So I reversed the steps checking all the connections and found the new memory stick was not completly seated (one side was not clicked in). After securing it, backtracked my way out, and she booted up. Yay!

Where can i buy that ram? that you used???

@drecck1 check all cables and if not, try old memory.
-
@bryany88 you need to remove the screws and card to lift the system board.

Success!!! thanks for the tutorial, worked a treat :)

I just ordered my 2GB stick and once it arrives, I'll follow your tutorial. Hopefully my tiny toolkit I bought is sufficient for the insanely small screws.

Im having issues with my computer not turning on after this. can anyone help me?

I have an issue with the wireless LAN card. My screw is stripped. Is it necessary to remove the card or can u just remove the cables but leave the screw and card still in tact? Thanks for your help. Great video so far

I've upgraded mine to 2GB a while ago but the netbook still very slow compared to my laptop. Mine is running on Window 7 starter. Does upgrading to Window 7 Ultimate make the netbook runs faster?
does the 2gb make much difference performance wise?

Depends who you talk to. I don't necessarily notice it using just a single application. However, since I frequently run more than one application, that's where I notice it.

As long as you're not looking for a powerhouse, and can live with the limited screen real estate, it's great. I use mine almost exclusively outside of the office. It's handy for school because of the portability, and I generally don't need my "powerhouse" laptop outside of work at the moment.

Thank you so much. Worked without a hitch. I found that a few screws were too tight to unscrew by hand using my small screwdrivers. In case anyone else has the same problem... i pressed down the screw driver with one hand and used a plier to turn it with the other.
My hands hurt like a b!tch from all that prying but definitely worth it! THANKS

Yeah, I hate that loctite crap they put in there. I've stripped a few screws in other gadgets because of that crap. Now that I've got a better set of screwdrivers, it's not as bad any more, but it still happens.
