...now that we've had the chance to look at both the freeware and payware incarnations of Cajon Pass, which one ultimately does the better job?

  • Yes, the Pass is awesome. As a frequent traveler and photographer on Cajon and surrounding areas, I can see a lot of work went into the payware, even though there appears to be a lot of missing elements. For instance, it would be cool to include Joe's Country Corner Cafe in Devore, a landmark for railfans and rail crews alike for many years. Good video, outstanding choice of production music. The music makes your videos shine. Great job.

  • @trmania A review of Southern Pacific and a Union Pacific route, if that even exists... =/

  • The payware Cajon Pass cannot possibly be worse than the Greater Toronto Area route. Having experience with both, (and putting my love of the ATSF aside) I can say that Cajon Pass is very good, but not excellent, and GTA is s-t.

  • Nice! Glad I got the payware before I knew there was a freeware!

  • I hope you intend to do ONE more, cause, there's one more CP route. Cajon Pass 3: Mainlines, on Trainsim.com

  • Really liked the Cajon Pass mini series, but there is another Cajon Pass so this is still to be continued?

  • I was never a Cajon Pass fan until I bought this and the scenary upgrade. 3DTrains brought me to my knees with the brilliance of their work :)

  • will you be reviewing the new freeware cajon pass?

  • I also own the 3dts Tehachapie Pass route and since they both connect to the Cajon payware years ago. Would be cool to connect the freeware cajon Fullerton-Barstow with the Freeware Surfliner.

BTW I see your running my SD70Ms

  • I own both the freeware and the Payware but I quite like all the track data in freeware then payware because the payware is missing tracks that were there in the old times. Summit is a good example as it is missing the setout you can call it the helper tracks while freeware has most of all them sidings spurs and setouts. Payware is good for texture and scenery but its a little poor in track data. Freeware needs to be a bit upgraded in scenery textures.
