Perhaps a "scholarly discussion" rather than a "scientific discussion", hm? tudományosnak azért mind a kettő felel meg angolul.

So this is what it sounds like in the violin section.

I am hungarian like Ivan.He is father's friend. He is a smart gentleman. He has the 9th best orchestra in the world.
-
Sounds like a man who's not afraid to shake things up a bit in the classical tradition and keep the players on they toes.
That's a great thing, because classical music needs to think how to freshen up for the new millenium to appeal to today's ADD audiences.

I think Ivan Fischer likes to keep orchestras awake by making changes in the performances. I once performed Brahms 2nd with him, and at some perfomences he repeated the exposition of the first movement, at others he didn't, and he also changed the tempi or the beginning of the symphony, just running in and starting to conduct into the the applaus with half of the strings didn't have their instruments up to play. Great conducter, anyway, but not loved by much of the orchestra musicians.
CORRECTION: IVÁN FISCHER
