  • Hi, great stuff.

I've got a pic chip connected to my sid of which works but could you please tell me how you get tunes to play ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • @marky26uk

I'm using a modified version of the rockbox implementation of tinysid.

Playing SID tunes is relatively processor and memory hungry though, an option if your PIC can't handle the load, would be to translate the SID writes into timing based information. siddump for example could do this for you (you might need to modify it for your needs though)

  • Groovy. Sounds great.

  • @stekern1 Hi and thanks for getting back to me, siddump was exactly what i was looking for, i've got some tunes playing now but not sounding right at the moment.

I use liberty basic to read the dump's from siddump then relay the values via rs232 to my pic, works good.

I think the hex values from the siddumps could be wrong ie, incorrect filter settings or summat, is this something you experienced & found a solution ?

Anymore help greatly appreciated, at least i'm getting closer now thanks to you

  • Way cool!
