These parents should have been arrested for reckless endangerment of a child. It's ridiculous to think that a mother would send her child onto a railroad bridge just to let her husband know she was in labor. He had to stay until his job was done in any case.
We are not God. We cannot make for others the choice of life or death. Jesus went willingly to die for us. Cheesey videos only cheapen his sacrifice.

I loved the video and have posted it on my Facebook Wall. I don't know about the rest of the people who will watch it, but my reaction is always the same. :-` ( I'm also curious as to who wrote the music. Could you please tell me so I can buy a CD of it? Thanks and God bless!

@TechXCentral That's the whole thing, though- why do we deserve damnation? Because of some distant ancestor who made a minor transgression against their father's will? Because we have a built-in ability to sin? Whose fault is that? Surely not ours. We are mere specks of dust to God. We are naive. Sending us to be damned FOREVER simply because we are by nature imperfect is not righteous.
Well, anyway. I don't find it disparaging when people say they'll pray for me, so I don't really mind.

@FollyxXxFallen God is graceful and merciful. Graceful meaning we get what we deserve and merciful meaning we dont get what we deserve. God was graceful by still giving the punishment but taking it upon himself. He was merciful by forgiving us of our sins even though we deserve eternal damnation and seperation from him in hell. I hope that makes sense to you and i dont know if by saying you dont believe in heaven you dont believe in christ but if you dont mind i will pray for you.

For those who say things like what God did is not a sacrifice, wake up please. Yeah God is omnipotent. Yeah he knew that Jesus would come straight back to Him. That doesn't matter. God DIDN'T have to send Jesus to do what he did. He DIDN'T need to put Jesus through some of the most painful experiences known in history. But yet he DID. Jesus still went through pain. And so did God. If we would just accept him an love him, God wouldn't need to put people like Jesus in such terrible circumstances

i am a pest, i know. does the point of this video conflict with the Calvinist tenant of limited atonement? i don't subscribe to the tenant.

@roaringwaterbay
I am not a calvinist so I am not familiar with all of their terms. I just follow Jesus the best that I can...plain and simple.
I do think that this video does a good job showing how much God laid down when He gave His only Son.
but the boy falling into the bridge is not how Jesus did it. Jesus willingly went to the cross for us... not by accident...
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks Jonathan

Though this is touching and wonderfully made, I don't think really parallels the story of Jesus. God sent a son (who was also himself, mind you) for the purpose of dying, and Jesus was returned to him in short order. Plus, God could have skipped it altogether and just forgiven us. You could argue that the man will be reunited with his son in Heaven, and while I don't actually believe in such a place, the agony of such a loss.. doesn't seem bearable.

God couldnt just forgive us just cause He wants to. Without the shedding of blood their is no remission of sin. and God can't justify those who are wicked, cause if He did, He Himself would become an abomination. But for this cause He sent His Son to bear the weight of our sins... so now the wrath of God has been satisfied and God can now look at us as clean.
