  • And why is everyone bitching about his composition on a video of him performing an improv piece?

  • I watch this everyone once and while to put myself in my place.

  • @fitchke I made a different account (just to dispel confusion) but you're right to an extent. I love Hella and think he's a great writer, just never been a fan of his solo work. I've never heard necromancer and maybe it's just poor mixing in the video but when I hear hardly any supplementary instrumentation, I do get bored of the drums. I think people (not necessarily you) dickride him a little too much and I think he's great, but not immune to criticism. Just my opinion.

  • @signoreawesome

You're right, its probably never ever occurred to Zach that not everyone would like this kind of music. He has no idea he plays a very avant-garde style that caters to a very specific audience, no idea whatsoever. Is that what you honestly think? Zach does have an all out assault style of playing, instead of building up tension and then releasing it, but that can be a musical statement itself. It doesn't mean his fans don't pay attention, you just don't bc you dont like it

  • "10 minutes of 32nd notes! Go!"

    "... BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--"

  • @ZoSo763 a triple bass pedal???

  • The thing that I like about Zach Hill's drumming is that he isn't trying to get attention through shock value, he's a legitimately skilled drummer with an original style, and doesn't use ludicrous messages of anger or self-involvement to do it. He doesn't even really do interviews. He brought his style of drumming from nothing to what it is today without making himself a charicature, and it just makes me laugh when I see people say that he's anything less than great.

  • @portaberta there is nothing wrong with his right foot, it's our feet that suck...

  • .... absolutely....brilliant...

  • @ZoSo763 -- NO! He doesn't use a double bass pedal. I've seen him live a couple times up close and I can guarantee you he doesn't use one. Check him out live if you can!
