When I first sat down to work on this project, I wondered how I would be able to display my creativity with the small parameters that the box provided. I like to think of myself as a creative person, so I wanted to find a way to actually fit myself within the box. This idea got me thinking about the entire college process that I, and so many other high school seniors, have been going through. We, as applicants, are expected to fit ourselves within parameters, whether it is a fill-in bubble on an SAT, a 500-word maximum limit, or a box for a scholarship application. Within these boundaries we have to compact ourselves and condense the stories of our lives just so that we fit inside. How can we expect an admissions committee to see who we really are when we have to leave so much out? Sure, we list our extracurricular activities, honors, and awards, but behind these résumés are 18 years worth of life experiences that define who we truly are. The goal of my project is to remind those watching that entire lives exist beyond the confines of a box or paper application. I hope that my improvisational dance video not only accomplishes this goal, but also displays the parts of me that could not fit within a box.

This was truly amazing and creative. I hope you get in. Tulane would be lucky to have you, but you really ought to go somewhere where you can dance. You have such talent.
