Take a look at this sample conversation demonstrating depth of field (DOF), or the effect of creating a sense of distance between the nearest and farthest objects. Notice how the focus of the scene is centered on the conversation taking place, and how other objects behind and around the characters decrease in sharpness.

  • @ZDBradfield To a degree, yes. I disagree on the pure repetition as in this one you'll actually be able to change your characters allegiances, and storyline depending on your choices. Unlike in Wow or the others where no matter what you do you go from point A to B basically always along the same path.

  • @ZDBradfield The " I remember this speech already when making an ALT", in case you were unaware each class have their OWN story so you'd have to create 8 ALT'S before you'd start to see the same dialogue again in class stories.

That is 1600 hour of content though, not bad in my opinion.

A little more immersion (read a lot) than reading text in other MMO's.

Playing your class story is almost like playing a full-on SP RPG but you can do it with others, a win I'd say.

  • @ZDBradfield Well each of the 8 classes (divided into 2 factions) is enough story to last over 2000 hours the first time through. and since every quest has 2-3 options with different long term consequences.... there are so many new things to do. you will NEVER play the exact same again. Also because each class is divided into the seperate Advanced classes which leads to even more customization and new gameplay

  • MMO success = repetition value.

Story depth and voiced conversations = Pure win, OFMG... on you first char.

Second char you roll = Ok, I remember this speech already, ESC for the next line, whatever.

Third alt= ESC ESC ESC, let's kill some mobs and lvl up this alt.

There is so much hype around the voice acting and story, but unfortunately after 6 months of play all the fluff goes to shit and what remains is GAMEPLAY, things to do in the game, and repetition!

If the repetition value is good = WIn.

  • Is it just me...or does the Smuggler sound a lot like Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series ? :S

  • @pmanderson Its gameplay and animations that make a game, not graphics. Why is no one dissing Wow for its graphics? Bcus it has learnt its lesson, gameplay is what makes an MMO, not graphics. Btw these graphics already surpass Wow's 50 times, AND its Work in progress. This style of graphics is easier to alter, compared to GW2. GW2s graphics for example will be hard to alter over time.

  • @satanspy Its gameplay and animations that make a game, not graphics. Why is no one dissing Wow for its graphics? Bcus it has learnt its lesson, gameplay is what makes an MMO, not graphics. Btw these graphics already beat Wow and its WORK IN PROGRESS KENT.

  • @13Kegor37 yea i know, but it really reminds me of the clone wars era

  • @Blizzfart Old Republic era, ..Yeah..

  • I like the looks of the whole game happening during the clone wars era.
