The National Anthem was written about how the flag was still there even as Ft. McHenry was being attacked by the Royal Navy. It is a song about America's ability to stand tall and survive, not a "hymn to weaponry and military strategy." I'm a progressive too. A world without war would be terrific, and killing should never necessary. Sadly, I've got news for you: World leaders aren't reading your youtube comment. Learn some history and get over yourself.

@cgabis04 Agreed. No war would be great! :) But the sad fact is, there can't be world peace without first a global goverment, and then a set of laws that would heavily oppress the citizens and leaders (e.g: You cause a crime, you get killed) As a libertarian, I'd rather die than be oppressed like that. >_>

For me, I believe that if everyone could carry a firearm or a sidearm, then there would be less crime in the world :)

yeah, yeah, yeah...  killing is necessary, or so the human race has convinced itself--especially the religious, it would seem. Still, even some of the biggest battle-wagers in the world (e.g., the vikings of Norway, the British, the Japanese, and the Germans) can manage a national anthem that is not a hymn to weaponry and military strategy.
