Fucking hell, if people want to screw up in school let them, besides it's not like you're going to have any luck with scholarships or financial aid, universities and colleges are only accepting students who pay the full tuition.

Thank you for adding on (and correcting my misspelling). I used to never think about the fact that anytime we create a law, we then create a need for that law to be policed by an authoritative [govt] force. In other words, expanding the power of the government, reducing freedom. When the greatest thing about our republic, was that power was reserved for the people to govern their own affairs and the federal govt was very limited in its power. But you probably know all that,

But seriously, aside from the privacy issues, you do have a great point about this not being a good use of taxpayers' money.

Yeah, tax the people to pay for ankle bracelets and the personal to make sure some kid goes to school who wasn't properly raised by his/her parents.... that makes a lot of sense.
If he doesn't follow the law by attending school, what makes anyone think he's all of a sudden going to follow the rules and not cut the plastic banded ankle bracelet off...?

Horrible Idea. It always starts for the worse cases and then they implement it for all the students because it makes their life easier. How about invest into better lesson plans and teachers to make kids WANT to goto school instead of trying to "teach" responsibility by making them put on an ankle bracelet. This will be a way for school districts to have attendance up by forcing them to be there for the headcount (so they get PAID), but they wont have any learning go on. Plus peer issues?
