Junebug, I found the homeless interviews very intriguing. I see that you carried out your investigation almost three years ago. I'm curious to know if their circumstance has changed, any updates?

@StarGyrl Thanks for watching. Actually, these clips were already around 10 years old when I uploaded them to You Tube, so that means the footage was shot around 12 years ago.

I don't know what happened to these men I interviewed... whenever I am in the area where I first met them, I am always hoping that I run into one of them because I am curious to know how they are doing. So far this hasn't happened.

Thanks for taking the initiative to upload this. I have no idea if this is just my perception but I've always believed that homelessness is linked to depression which causes a lack of motivation and leads to substance abuse and creates the whole vicious cycle and I wondered.. Does the US offer some type of free rehabilitation centers and/or treatment for depression and similar issues? (I'm not American)

@cuppycakeism I agree with you about the issue of depression (or bipolar disorder). When I was interviewing these men, especially the man in Part TWO of this series, I noticed all the signs and symptoms.

These men can apply for disability and get treatment for depression, but if they are on the street and no one is there to intervene, there is no way they will know what to do on their own.

I was homeless for 2 weeks with my 9 year old daughter. Living in that shelter was an awful feeling. Never give up on people. NEVER.

Interesting videos. Actually the results are pretty much what most people assume. Giving these people money is not an act of compassion. It simply enables them to avoid receiving the help that they need, but apparently don't want. If they wanted the help, there are public organizations and private charities waiting and willing to help them.
