Healthcare professionals and public audiences from around the globe are invited to watch real time through the web as internationally recognized spine specialists from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia demonstrate a lumbar laminectomy and a transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, or TLIF. Performed to alleviate severe, chronic lower back and leg pain associated with herniated discs, degenerative disk disease, scoliosis, and other related conditions, the procedures will be broadcast real time via webcast on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 12:00 p.m EST. All viewers will be able to ask questions online during the surgery and physicians can earn CME credit.
i had this procedure done in may 16th of 05 and i was great for a while but then it started to go down hill! the pain started to elevate and know its not only my lumbar pain but both my legs and my feet hurt so bad... beacuse of the stiffness of my fusion my upper discs are to tense that they are being afected and ow my left arm is feeling numb because the disc are bitting my nerves... this sucks and know im pending a @nd surgery witch i hope it goes better!!!

i had surgery 2 weeks ago. i feel so much better. i stopped taking narcotics in less than a week. i have a lot of numbness in my rle, and no real patellar reflex in my rle. according to my neurologist, that may or may not come back. i start therapy next week for that.

depending on how much and for how long the vertebra was pressing upon the spinal cord and/or nerves it can take up to 6 months for the nerves to fully heal. it would be better to ask your surgeon though, since they would know your specific case.

i had a laminectomy 6 weeks ago , and while i feel a bit better in the week or so following surgery, i am not even one percent better than pre-surgery. does anyone know if that is quite normal?

check out the odds of perfection- post surgery. I couldnt walk before and thousands of dollars to my chiro, led me into bankruptcy (he`s doing okay $though) Got the surgery and lordy lordy I can walk and live pain free, so there.
