I've heard that the letters of the New Testament were already being recognised and passed around the churches long before the official canonisation.

It's a matter of context. When it says "hate", it means that RELATIVE to your love for God, your love for your family is hate.
The point is that you love God far more than anything else.

The word hate as written in the bible in Greek used the word miseo which according to Strong's Lexicon means "to love less". I don't think hate is the correct translation. It appears the correct translation to love less is just reiterating what Matthew said?

Yahushua said that the twelve will sit with him and i believe that still includes Judas. Judas realised that he had commited his ultimate sin and killed himself, and i believe Yahushua would not forsake him. What Judas did was needed and Yah knew this. If Judas had not done so, things would not be as they are now and Yahushua would not have died for our sins.

Matthew 26:24 The Son of Man goes, as it has been written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.
The Holy city will not be built on foundations named after judas following satan to betray & then commit self murder; it will be built on those repenting & following Yehshua in obedient service.
