French soprano Mireille Delunsch singing Elettra's aria D'Oreste, D'Aiace from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 1780 opera Idomeneo (K 366). Richard Croft sings the title role with the orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble conduced by Marc Minkowski and Rundfunkchor Berlin directed by Simon Halsey. Performed at Theatre de l'Archeveche, Aix en Provence, on 10.07.2009. This is an Arte TV broadcast with French subtitles. Mozart wrote only a few operatic "mad scenes" which is such a pitty, really, considering the extremely high quality of both this aria, and the more famous Queen of the Night's Der Hölle Rache from Die Zauberflöte.

  • Really funny you've sent me this because I was there!! Live she did a great job! Wonderful singing, interpretation and acting!

  • OMG, Now I really really really hate you and envy you to the point of insanity! ;)

  • OMG, this is soo wonderful! Thanks dearest, for posting this video. However, I think the reaction from the audience was too cold for such a great performance.

  • Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I think they were in a "oh, that voice is too small" trip, completely ignoring the best acting I have ever seen...

  • VERY BAD :-(

  • Whoa an electrifying and bloody Elettra!!

  • sorry, but the stabbing at the end is really hilarious. knife too big, camera too close

The reaction from the audience was terrible, they don´t understand what they saw! A wonderfull voice and a brilliant acting!! I never see a Elettra with so much emotion!
