@DreadFugitiveMind Yeah, the guitarist is ruining the feel of the song...typical 90's prog rock guitar egotism trying to reign supreme at the wrong time.
-
btw, is he really John Wetton?

This is completely awful. It's not just a matter of the guitar player, is a matter of the whole band. where the f*ck is the mellotron? where is the crunchy distortled bass? where is the feeling? why two steps down tunned?
If you want to cover KC, do it well, with personality, but this is ruining a song. That's why nobody went to your bday.

Now I have to listen to the original to clean that new age crap out of my ears.
-
the guitarplayer is filling too much space with his narcistic ego
-
It would eliminate the confusion if the video wasn't titled the way it was. That way people would focus on listening to this version from a different perspective, rather than talking about this guitarist trying to replace Fripp

The guitarist didnt make me claw my eyes out like most of the comments were saying, but his playing really is a problem. Pretty much all of it is. Its technically accomplished, but filling every single second with notes isnt really how you perform a song like this. It makes it come off as monotone, whereas the original started off melancholy, built in strength, then scaled back to a groove and finally ended with a powerful instrumental that increased in intensity. This version's got none of that
-
I hope they didn't perform a similar hatchet job on Exiles

Some of those parts

Awful. Too much over the top guitar. Originally those parts were played by David Cross on violin. This guy thrashes all the emotion out of it.

what the fuck is the guitarist doing =s this ain't no dream theater man it's a fucking KING CRIMSON SONG !!!
