i currently run a amd 6400+ with 2 gigs of 800mhz crusial ballistix ram... 8800gt 512
and that was really cheap lol. I could go buy a new pc and not even care lol.

well if you have the money then go ahead and upgrade every year lol. i dont get a new pc untill i feel the need. weather its 2 years aftrer i got my other one or 6 months.

its direct x 9....8800gts supports directx10. 9800 that is coming out is dual 8800 ultras in one..not a new architecture. wait for a real 9800.

the 8800 gts supports directx10....Im not even going to bother with the 9800GTX2s when they come out...hence GTX2 witch means they are really just 2 8800ultras together lol not even a new architecture? so ya

hmm I only upgrade my video card every 3 years once the hype has gone and the price goes down. most of the time the software and games are playing catchup. I have a 8800gtx and im happy with that till end of next next year :)
the games are just starting to support 8800gts and you've already jumped on the direct10 bandwagon. I pity your wallet. and all your wasted cards

Sorry but its not DX9 its OpenGL 2. Allot of people believe OpenGL is dead but thats further than the truth. Given that the 9800 series will support OpenGL 3 things should get intresting.
I actually do upgrade my card every year.
Geforce4MX, Radeon9700Pro, RadeonX800, nVidia7800GTX, nVidia8800GTS, nVidia9800GTX.

Yep 64bit Vista, 1680x1050, all settings max but for some reason its frame limited to 30.
