Syd Barrett did not kill himself. He went crazy which is what Shine On You Crazy Diamond was about. Barrett actually just died 3 years ago.

In this version, they were asking questoins, but in the original, the questions were rhetorical. Also, a little more in depth. The original talked about Syde Barrett killing himself.... and how the singer/band missed him. How could this connect to a hero telathon?

the originial was NOT about Barrett killing himself. He in fact showed up for some of the later studio dates. He just went mad.
