i was lucky, my family is pretty accepting of me, if your dad loves you for who you are, he will understand, he may need time, some people do, but regardless of what happens (or did happen?) remember there are people in your life that love you for who you are and so do i ;-) good luck sweetie

TBH how to come out to someone is really on a case by case basis. I don't know your father, and therefore it's hard for me to say. My advice would be to just sit him down and tell him straight up, but again I couldn't be sure.
I think before you do however, you should really watch part 2 of my dad's interview because he answers a perfectly relevant question to what you're going through/may go through.

Thanks for the honesty in this. Your dad will still love you. He just needs to understand this part of you. Even if he never does understand, you may never be whole until you are truly you.
