A Broken Down Bus Chapter 37

Still Candice's POV

We waited in the room for about 10 more minutes, and Mr and Mrs Jonas arrived after recieving a call from security.
"Kevin!! My baby, are you alright???" Denise asked, grabbing Kevin's cheeks.
"Mom!! Yes, i'm fine... it's throbbing a bit." Kevin replied, pointing to his nose.
"Just wait til I get my hands on him!!" Kevin Sr. said.
He was obviously talking about Joe. A security guard came into the room with Joe.
Joe was silent.
"Is this your son?" the security guard asked.
"Yes." Denise said, walking over to Joe.
"He's not under arrest, but he is banned from the mall for 4 months." the security guard explained.
Joe remanied silent.
We all loaded into the car in silence. We were going to the hospital to check everyone out.
Joe sat in the backseat alone, but I got in the back with him.
"We're very disapointed in you, son" Kevin Sr. said.
Joe stared at the floor, and I saw a tear silently glide off his nose and onto the floor.
I placed my hand on his, and he looked up at me.
"I-i'm sorry" he whispered. "go ahead and break up with me"
He closed his eyes and another tear went down his cheek.
I kissed his cheek, and he opened his eyes.
"I still love you Joe" I whispered, smiling.
He didn't smile. He just looked away from me.
"What?" I asked.
He turned around again.
"I- I don't... you don't.... nevermind." he stuttered.
He moved his hand away from mine.
I stared at him. I didn't what? He didn't what? I'd have to ask him when we got home.
We arrived at the hospital and Joe and Kevin got checked out. Nick had a little brusise on his leg from trying to help the security guards, but he was fine otherwise. Joe's gash in his leg was from Taylor throwing a clothes rack on him. It had dug into his leg. Just in case, Joe got a techness (sp?) shot, and his leg was bandaged. Kevin's nose was wrapped up tighter, and would be better in a few days.
When we got to the Jonas house, Mr and Mrs Jonas talked to Joe in private for a little while, and then he came out of the kitchen, looking grim.
I followed him up the stairs without him noticing me. When he limped into his room, I went in as well, and he turned around and saw me close the door.
Joe shook his head at me, and lay down on his bed. He removed his shirt, and I saw about 5 bruises all over his chest.
"I-It's a good thing you didn't brake your ribs again" I said, walking over to him.
He placed ice from the kitchen on his bruises, but he didn't say anything.
"T-that would have been bad" I said again, urging him to talk.
"Yes" Joe whispered, closing his eyes and wincing at the pain of his brusies.
"A-are you ok?" I asked, sitting down next to him.
He looked at me, and he looked away again.
"I'm fine" he said shortly.
"Joe... what's wrong?" I asked.
"Everything!!!" he exclaimed, and he sat up, wincing. "The fact that I got in a fight is wrong!! The fact that I have a bloody gash in my leg is wrong!! And the fact that we can't be together is wrong!!!"
Tear after tear cascaded down Joe's face.
"You don't deserve me!! And I don't deserve you!!" he said. "You deserve someone who doesn't lose his temper easily, and who doesn't get into trouble!! I dont deserve you because your too wonderful!! Your too beautiful!! I don't deserve anybody!!"
He closed his eyes, and I closed mine.
"S- so what? So your telling me that we can't be together?" I asked, tears forming in my eyes.
"I- i don't know" Joe said.
I stared at him for what seemed like forever.
"Then Jospeh Adam Jonas.... we're done" I said.
I started to walk out, but I stopped.
"Tell me when you get yourself together" I said, and I left, slamming the door.
