Pastor Kirk vs. Pastor Vince

Religion (especially christianity) has a lot in common with pro wrestling. Both have weekly meetings, over-the-top ceremonies, bloody violence, gratuitous sex, homoerotic undertones, strange costumes, non-sensical stories and unrealistic, one-dimensional characters.
Both religion and wrestling have their fanatical followers and detractors. Yet, in wrestling, at least the audience knows that the spectacle they are witnessing is for show, not for real.
It's time to grow up and get real!

If you believe that there was an actual Jesus who died and came back to life and performed miracles, then you ARE an over the top religious person, homeboy! That's keepin' it real!
There's nothing wrong with striving to be a good person for it's own sake, but there's no need or excuse for an adult to believe in fairy tales, myths and a sky-daddy who monitors all of our thoughts at the same time.
You say God looks at the heart, but maybe it's time for people to start using their brain?

Love, Satan

You wanna talk about talking about nothing? I went to your "church" last year with my cousin and his homies a couple times. That pretty much summed up our experience there, we've never been back.
The sun is setting on your antiquated philosophies and oppressive ignorance, you can feel it...
Maybe one day you'll come over to the rational way of thinking? But you probably don't want to hear about it or won't accept it, right?
You're more than welcome. Come on in, the water's warm...

The point is that "god" IS mankind, because he represents exactly who wrote the bible... men!
You're right, I wouldn't accept it. I've read it many times over the years. The difference is that I don't buy it. It's a story. If you like the bible for it's morality, I could also suggest The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood.
God sending messengers...
You are way too caught up in literal interpretations of scripture. You are down the river, homeboy! Adios!

thanks for seeking. Seems like you like talking about nothing.

"Think about it, religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of 10 things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these 10 things, he has a special place full of fire and smoke and torture and anguish where he will send you to suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry for ever and ever 'til the end of time... but he loves you"
George Carlin
"The god of the old testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all of fiction; jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, blood thirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynist, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestliential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully".
Richard Dawkins

Richard listed what mankind is but didn't mention who the OT God is: Creator, sustainer, provider, just, loving, love all nations, giving grace, protecting, patient, long suffering, honest, faithful...etc.
Read the story of Ninevah's redemption in Jonah. How God sent a messanger to a nonAbraham decident to share the story of God's grace on them. What about Ruth or Egypt being a city that provided for nations in famine. It goes on but I don't know if you want to hear it or accept it.

"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded "This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. god must be even greater than we dreamed"? Instead they say, "No, no no! My god is a little god and I want him to stay that way".
"You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe",
Carl Sagan

Science books and searching this great planet and life is the joy we have of find out how great God's love is for you and I. I look at science as a commentary to the Bible. You ever read the Bible? You ever read the expanse it talks about Creation and the planets? Without the scientist theories.
Love I believe must be matched with evidence. God is love by God's own definition of who God is. Love is then translated by giving and sacrifice which was done all in Jesus!
