Severn Valley Autumn Gala 240910

A great Gala was in prospect with some fine guest engines in the shape of Bulleid Battle of Britain class 34070 Manston, GWR 3717 City of Truro, LMS 5690 Leander, GWR Prairie 5542 and GWR Collett 0-6-0 3205 Two contrasting days with cloud predominating on Friday and glorious sunshine for much of Saturday. Many thanks to the volunteers and operational staff of the Severn Valley for organising a very entertaining gala.

GWR Manor Class 7812 Erlestoke Manor at Oldbury Viaduct and Bewdley South; LMS Jubilee 5690 Leander at Oldbury, Knowlesands, Arley and Bewdley South; GWR Prairie 5542 at Bewdley Tunnel, Eardington Summit and Arley with the goods; GWR Prarie 5164 at Oldbury and Eardington Summit; SR Bulleid West Country 34070 Manston at Arley and Eardington; GWT Pannier 5764 and 5542 at Hay Bridge; 7812 Erlestoke Manor and 7802 Bradley Manor at Foley Park; GWR City Class 3717 City of Truro leaving Bewdley and on Eardington Bank; 7802 Bradley Manor leaving Bridgnorth; GWR Prairie 4566 leaving Bewdley; GWR Collett 0-6-0 3205 at Bridgnorth and Foley Park.

Thanks. I Have a Sony Z5 and a Manfrotto 525 with an HDV 503 head. They are both quite heavy and cumbersome, but deliver good quality results, though not without their faults!

Also especially enjoyable the chatter of 34070 in the last shot of her, the last two shots of 3717, and best of all I feel the two 'long-distance' shots of at Foley park - the double-heading Manors in particular really looked like 'the old days'!
